The Chacal is a young man from a humble indigenous background, who, in a racist and classist society, has become an object of desire for the gay community in Mexico. A power structure has linked wealthy voyeurs with the sexually charged Chacal.   Renowned Mexican author Carlos Monsiváis has noted, “tens of thousands of young men who have discovered a dark lesson: «He who does not show himself, does not sell.» They live in Tepito, Nexa City and Iztapalapa, communities on the outskirts of Mexico City created by mass migration from rural states.
